Miami welcomed our hearty appetites with Pork Lechon, Grilled Pollo, Plantains, Rice & Beans and Cubanos served with news from the 1950's Havana, Cuba!

We woke up at 7:30 AM to enjoy the morning sun on South Beach.

Perfect way to kickstart the day, with Mimosas ;)

Breakie ain't complete without good ol' classic Benedict with Salmon & Idaho Potato

The 7 mile bridge built in 1978, connecting all the Florida Keys is an incredible drive. All sides are surrounded by water that meet with the horizon. It's amazing what humankind can create, when we set out heart to it! As we drove through, we could see the ramifications of Hurricane Irma, almost two months after. Many trees still seemed battered and were slowly on their way to recovering their full green and glisten.

The Southernmost point of North America! Couldn't believe we were merely 90 miles away from Cuba, a place high up on my bucket list. There was a que to take a picture here and the lady behind us decided to solely focus on us, cutting out the landmark itself, lol!

Key West itself is a cute quaint town with old colorful buildings that makes strolls through Duval Street super fun! As you walk through the street, most bars have live gigs so you can choose what appeals to your mood that night. The town is supremely LGBTQ friendly, but isn't all that racially diverse and as we biked away from Duval Street towards the other coastal areas, we noticed that a confederate flag was up! It does not represent the viewpoint of all people in the town, but surely something to think about!!!

A few places that we really enjoyed were Sloppy Joe's, Willie T's & Garden of Eden. The Rooftop of Garden of Eden is beautiful, a perfect place to continue the night into dawn. There's a body paint artist who can color you up aesthetically. There are no phones allowed on this floor, as clothing is very much optional! We had a most memorable night at Willie T's, with a singer from Texas, getting the place groovy. The highlight was when a singer from the audience joined in and to our delight had a voice to kill, which led to several duets through the night!

Yup, there's a toy train that runs through town :)

The Museum of Art & History, has larger than life figurines making the town come alive. Once, we by mistakenly almost asked one of the statues for directions, ha!

D.J.'s Clam Shack has lobster roles and crab cakes, with Sangria & locally brewed beer, Islamorada. If you've tried lobster rolls at Maine, you may find the ones at Key West slightly chewy, but a great place to eat overlooking the streets embracing Duval's street vibe!

The beautiful beaches of Key West. We first biked to Smathers Beach, spending the morning here and then Fort Zachary Taylor Park.

Within Fort Zachary Taylor Park, there's a beach perfectly situated for the sunset.

Nothing like watching the stunning sky emanate different hues as you sit gazing with your bestie & lover!
