Eat fresh, eat local, and eat seasonal. This has always been the motto in my house. Since my childhood I remember visiting the vegetable/meat/fish market (be it in my hometown in Delhi, my native town in Darjeeling or any place we are visiting) with my dad and him explaining to me how to identify fresh and perfect vegetable, meat or fish. At home my mum would toil in the kitchen for hours and whip out meal after meal that was not only delicious and comforting but nutritious too. 

 

Within India we have managed to shop and cook in Darjeeling, Gangtok, Goa, Mumbai, Anand (Gujarat), Dehradun, Agartala. Abroad we have done the same in Paris, Newcastle, London, Indiana, Chicago, Pattaya, Perth and my most favorite memory is of having visited Tsukiji Market in Japan at 5am in the morning of which the sights were amazing and coming home and making a fresh Octopus salad.   

 

So my connection with food is deep and strong. I not only love food but respect it too and hate wastage. In today’s busy and hectic lives across cities and continents I see people skipping food shopping, cooking and experimenting with their meals. My Instagram feed is to inspire people to eat fresh, eat healthy and eat homemade. My inspiration for my foodie feed comes from the deep love and appreciation I have for quality ingredients, different cuisines that I have tried on my travels, from my want to show to everybody that you do not always have to visit a restaurant to enjoy great food and simply from my desire to eat wholesome and healthy meals.
